Manoir du Capucin Pouilly Fuisse 1er Cru Pouilly 2022
The vineyard, located in a former 17th-century residence once inhabited by the Capuchin friar Luillier, author of the famous "Mconnais Christmas Carols," is a place steeped in history. This manor house, adorned with Tuscan columns, bears witness to this bygone era. In 1933, Antoine Forest, Chlo Bayon's great-grandfather, acquired the property. However, for two generations, the vines were no longer cultivated.
Chlo Bayon, after growing up in Nice and studying viticulture and oenology, decided to revive this family vineyard where her ancestors' passion for wine lives on. Today, the estate covers 9.6 hectares of Pouilly-Fuiss 1er Cru, 2 hectares of Mcon Solutr-Pouilly, 1 hectare of Mcon Villages and 0.88 hectares of Saint-Vran, in the heart of Burgundy.
This plot, located on the Pouilly hillside, produces powerful wines with a perfect balance between richness and freshness. Wines from this vineyard have excellent aging potential.
