Origins & Distillation

• Produced by Nikka Whisky Distilling at its Miyagikyo Distillery near Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. Founded in 1969, this site offers sweet mountain air, high humidity, and soft water ideal for aging.

• Distilled from 100% malted barley using steam-heated pot stills, and matured primarily in sherry casks with occasional bourbon or Mizunara oak influence. Bottled at 45% ABV (90 proof), non-age-stated.

Nose (Aroma)

• Elegant and floral with orchard fruit like pear, green apple, and quince, layered with honey, light chocolate, and subtle spice. Underlying notes of oak, cedar, and a whisper of peat provide depth.

Palate & Texture

• Smooth, medium-bodied, and malt-forward. The flavor profile includes honeyed barley, fruit zest, and gentle spice: think vanilla, cinnamon, almonds, and baked citrus peel, with a touch of coastal salinity or soft smoke.
